do I need jira/Conflue server license if I want to retire my jira instance and keep it for history?

Hi,

I want to keep my jira (server version) instance in read-only mode and to keep it for record history purpose. Do I still require jira license to maintain read-only jira instance? 

also let me know same for Confluence instance as well.

Hello

For server license, you don't need pay to new maintain.

A new annual license is needed if you plan to receive updates from the Atlassian.
Moreover, you can continue to work in server Jira and confluence without buying an extension of support, but you will lose support and updates from Atlassian
