When i create multiple sub tasks(with estimations ) for a user story , how to configure Jira to ensure these hours added up to parent user story?
For example i have 3 tasks with estimation of 5 hours each, totaling to 15 hours, i am expecting this 15 hours to reflect at user story level. please help me
Regards,
Arvind
InJira Server: Just have to add the timetracking field in the subtask screen. The parent issue have field ∑Original Estimate that summarize estimations from the subtasks.
You need jira administration permission or extended permissions as Project Admin. TimeTracking must be enabled in the instance.
hello, I have tried to follow the steps above but still hours entered for sub task are not getting reflected in my view, i have time tracking enabled for my project, can you please give me step by step way to do this activity.

First, are you JIRA Admin? (To see if you can check the Story screen: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/defining-a-screen-938847288.html)
Send me your JIRA Version.
Could you send me print screen of what you see on the story screen (similar to the one I send).
Let’s Check in the Issues navigator to add the summarize original estimation field that I mention
1.- Go to Issues menu
2.- Search issues
3.- Add Column (image attached) -
4.- Select the field.
5.- Move the column (it will be added at the end)
And do a search of the issue, and send me the print screen. So I know what can be going on.
