Hello,
I have created a work management - project management template. It seems like after creating epics and associated tasks, it does not show the highlighted epic names on the tasks when viewing the kanban board. How can i configure this so that epic names show? Is this a limitation of the project template because this works when working in a software project.
Hi Marcus,
Jira Work Management projects are extremely limited in how cards appear on the boards. You can modify very few things, including not being able to eliminate Epics from the board or seeing the Epic link on the board.
For example, I would like my issues to show the epic names in the colored highlights as shown below.

is this still the case? I was trying to get this field to show up in the choices for the card config and nothing i do allows it to show up. Assuming Atlassian as not changed this function,

This appears to be a limitation of Work Management project. They do not support modifying the fields displayed on cards in the board.

hmm i see okay thank you, it seems like I can still link tasks to epics though. Is there a way to hide epics from showing on the kanban board in work management project? I can't seem to locate the board settings option.

There aren't any board settings for Work Management projects.
Work Management is the rebranding of Jira Core. Jira Software builds on Jira Core, extending the functionality to better suit software development projects. The corresponding project types (Work Management vs. Software) are going to support different functionality. You won't be able to pull the functionality from Jira Software into Jira Work Management projects and vice versa.
