Are you trying to select the date from a calendar widget or type it in?
What happens when you try to set it to a weekend date?
Do you get an error message? If so, do you get the error message immediately or when you click the button to save you entries and create the ticket? And what is the message that displays in this scenario?

i would like to change Start date of Ticket (ex from 7/07 to 5/07)
when i go back to the ticket, the changes are not applied

So you are going to the field and clicking on the calendar and selecting a new date. Correct? If so, make sure you click outside of the field in a blank white space or into another field so that the change you made sticks.
