The standard style of Jira (Core) shows {code} ... {code} segment with a grey background but inline comments have a transparent background.

Example:

Jira Inline-Comment Standard Background

I would like to format the background of the inline-comment so that it is also grey.

This is what i want:

Jira Inline-Comment Wanted (tinted) Background

Where can i do that in Jira Core/Software? Maybe you can even tell me how to format more than that. I have little knowledge in CSS and html so i should be fine after a hint to the location.

Is it possible to edit Confluence to do the same formatting (say red background)

Hi Vincent,

Unfortunately, this feature is not implemented on JIRA yet.

I recommend you to test the add-on Cute for JIRA, that provides more features and possibilities to customize project.

Okaaaay,

on my last job they had what i ask for.... but unfortunately the admin wouldn't tell me, what he did ...

Isn't there any CSS i can change?

When I add the brackets the renderer changes the style. This must be set somewhere...
