Hi Aneesh,

 There are multiple integration tools available to integrate GitHub with Jira. Depending on what all you are looking to integrate and what scale, sync tools can be divided into the following categories:

• Small scale integration (looking to integrate only a couple of projects and fewer than 100 entities): You can go for plug-in-based sync tools. Such tools are generally cheaper and require add-ons to be added in GitHub and Jira. Most often, plugins support only basic integration of adding a change set as comments. Being based on webhooks, they don’t offer rich failure management, either. Without good failure management, managing integration for more than a couple of projects gets difficult.
•   Medium to large scale integration (looking to integrate 10s or 100s of projects): Go for a standalone sync solution that sits outside of GitHub and Jira and offers rich sync capabilities to scale and manage integration for large number of projects. These tools typically take care of rich content sync like inline content, rich text formatting, Epic sync, Issues sync between GitHub Enterprise and Jira Enterprise Data Center.  
•  Only change set integration: These tools support only one-way change set/commit/pull request integration from GitHub to Jira. They don’t integrate Epic or Issues between GitHub and Jira.
• Change set + Epic, Issues integration: These tools support rich bi-directional integration for Epic and Issues between Jira and GitHub, in addition to commits, pull requests.

Sorry, the Jira version I'm using is Enterprise Data Center Jira instance V8.7.1.

So, can we Integrate Enterprise Data Center Jira with GitHub Enterprise Cloud?

Probably.

The problem is the term "integrate", what does that mean exactly. You could integrate anything with everything and it can be a different functionality every time.

I mean just a search for "jira github integration" is pretty bountiful in search engines.

In the similar fashion, whether we can do it for Jira Enterprise Data Center with GitHub Enterprise Cloud ?. Hope you understand.

only doubt is whether Jira Enterprise Data Center can be integrated with GitHub Enterprise Cloud.  I know Jira cloud can be integrate with GitHub Cloud. But not sure about Jira Enterprise Data Center version.
