Dear All,

I am using Jira nextgen projects, I have my backlog consists of stories, and for each story, I have created tasks for this specific story.

the story is not assigned to anyone since this is more relative to the task itself.

Should I keep the story in the backlog or add it to the sprint. what are the benefits?

Thanks

Hi @Mohammad Tina

I do not think you should add your story to a sprint but rather the tasks contained within the story.

If a story contains tasks that span multiple sprints then there’s no way for you to handle it.

If however the story is something that could be completed with your sprint by all means.

Note that Jira can also move uncompleted issues to the next sprint but going by agile methodology it is meant to contain only tasks that will be worked on.
