As i dont have many important features like, add work log, time estimation, add sub tasks, etc. i would like to switch back to classic.is it possible?can i move my tasks in next gen to classic??
does that create any other probem?
Hi
Normally I am not using NextGen projects but your question looked interesting so I did a little investigation.
I created a new NextGen project and uploaded some data. Then I looked through the documetation here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/manage-and-administer-next-gen-projects-942834582.html
It looks to me that it is not possible to simply switch back from NextGen to classic type of project. The administration of this type of project was supposed to be simple and easy to learn so I guess that is why Atlassian did not include most of administrative functions in this type of project.
If I had this problem myself, I would follow this procedure:
1. Create a new classic project, configure issue types, statuses in workflows, screens, fields etc to reflect exactly the configuration you had previously (assuming you were happy with it)
2. create a JQL query and export all the NextGen project data (i.e. all fields) to Excel to csv
3. import all the data from CSV to the new classic project
4. compare data in your NextGen project with the new Classic project
5. if the data is ok, remove access to NextGen project
6. give access to users to the new Classic project
Online forums and learning are now in one easy-to-use experience.
