is it safe to cancel a re-index?

Just started a re-index but want to make some other changes. How safe is it to cancel the re-index?

Well, the cancel option is available only if you do background re-indexing. And yes it is safe. If you cancel you will have partially indexes correctly so you just need to start it again when you are ready with your other changes.

I have done that multiple times and haven't seen any issues. You can try the integrity check just to make sure everything is fine.
