jira On releases panel, no place to enter version information

Learning Jira from the beginning ,  following along on my workstation.  Got an issue (task) opened, put it in backlog, sprint 1.  See it there.  Then on the left-hand menu I click on releases. The panel comes up but is empty,  no fields for version name, start date, etc.

 

What should I do?

Gerald,

The releases need to be configured by the Project Admin and then you can map the issue to the release. When you click on the Releases, it will show up.
