I upgraded jira from 7.10.2 to 7.12.1. Upgrade was done via redeploying new tar.gz on new EC2 and copying over necessary configs. New EC2 connects to existing RDS and EFS.
Old EC2 was discarded before upgrade was done.
after upgrade the versions & licences page show different Jira Software and Jira Core versions.
The Core shows version 7.12.1, however the software shows version 7.12.3.
the tar.gz I downloaded is atlassian-jira-software-7.12.1.tar.gz.
I tried upgrading from version 7.10.2 to 7.12.3 and that seemed to have worked fine. The Core and software match.
I need to import a project into jira which was created in 7.12.1. The import complains even if there minor version mismatch.
Any advice on importing project with different minor versions, OR, how to upgrade successfully to 7.12.1 will be appreciated.
Thanks
@Adrian Stephen thanks for responding. That confirms my what i thought about the import.
Any idea why I would have the mismatch in Jira Core and Jira Server?
Is is something from Atlassian forcing users to upgrade to latest release of 7.10.x?
Thanks
It is only possible to perform project import between the two same versions of Jira
The version of Jira in which your backup was created must be identical to the version of your target Jira instance, e.g. if your backup file was created in Jira 6.4, then your target instance of Jira must be version 6.4.
