jira portfolio vs tempo folio

What is the advantage of using JIRA portfolio over Tempo Folio? We use Tempo time sheets and have just started using JIRA portfolio. Thanks

That's a really good question.  I'd like to see what people think about it as well.

It is very important to understand that I've not been using either of these addons a huge amount for myself - I'm not a PM type who needs their functions a lot.

Although they're very different in style and interface, the thing I've spotted is money tracking - Portfolio lets you see what happens if you add and remove resources (i.e. people) on an initiative, but it doesn't cost it.   Folio lets you put a £ cost on your resources

The example I heard the other day for Folio:  It's quite likely that you pay the minion who makes the coffee less than the minion who writes your code, and that minion in turn gets paid less than Gru.  Portfolio won't make any distinction between adding 3 coffee makers or 3 developers to the project.  Folio will tell you the costs of adding different types of people.

I am also currently interested in the different JIRA portfolio management approaches. While researching I found this article (Portfolio management comparison) and it seem to be a quite comprehensive comparison of JIRA Portfolio, Tempo Folio and BigPicture.

I would like to have an answer to that question also. As Atlassian is way bigger than Tempo, my bet would be that JIRA Portfolio have more potential.
