last_ddl_time timestamp on JIRA tables

When i restart JIRA Application, JIRA tables last_ddl_time was updating? what is the reason behind this?

 

Example: jiraissue and jiraaction tables etc.... last_ddl_time updated when JIRA restarts

JIRA Version using - 6.4.3

Because the tables are checked and validated.  The next question is why are you asking?

Our Database group questioning on why the DDL is changed on JIRA tables.

I know restarting JIRA would read all columns from tables, but wanted to confirm that its because of JIRA restart

Why is your database group questioning it?  It's irrelevant to them.
