@mentions and Atlassian Groups

Jeff Aronow July 3, 2024

I used to be able to mention groups but that seems to have stopped working recently.  Is there a setting someone has flipped somewhere that controls mention behavior?  I can still add groups to specify permissions, but it seems to have stopped working to use groups in Mentions.

Hi @Jeff Aronow

Gabe from Plugin Vault team here. We've released Mention Groups for Jira on the app marketplace that does exactly that when adding comments on Jira issues. Have a look if you're interested and let us know your thoughts.

All the best,

Gabe

@Jeff Aronow There is a feature request to @ mention groups.  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-28225   You can @mention teams.  I am wondering if that is what your were doing before.  You can see the workaround of how to use teams in the linked feature request above.

No.  For reasons I don't understand I was about to mention users or groups.  We don't really use teams.  As a workaround I had to create a team today and its usage in mentions is awful.  It prints all the individual team members into the comment.

No idea how/why this worked for us for so many years, but I guess somebody "fixed the glitch" and now we have to use teams.
