no emails are being sent out from our Cloud instance for @mentions

We would like to get an email when someone is @ on an email. At the moment we get a notification in Jira UI.

This issue seems to occur when there is a problem with your notification scheme and/or permissions.  Consider checking the guidance on this page for notifications troubleshooting:
