@Harish

Gmail can not be setup with just the basic interface in JIRA v4.4.x or previous versions. Here is the basic documenation, although for POP or IMAP it is mostly importing the certificate.

NOTE: There has been improvements in this specific are for v5.0+ of JIRA. If you are playing around with a release canidate via the EAP or you want to wait for the fix to be in the user interface you might want to wait. Here is the documentation on version 5.0RC3 regarding the new way of setting up Gmail.

Respectfully,

-Jeremy

Hi Harish,

At the moment it isn't possible to connect Atlassian OnDemand with an external mail server, including gmail. You can check out our feature request for this at:

https://studio.atlassian.com/browse/JST-5649

You can potentially do the following to get functionality similar to this up and running:

  1. Set up your local mail box (or many mail boxes) to forward emails to your jira mail server (address would be jira at eko-jira.atlassian.net)
  2. Set up a service (or many services) in JIRA to create issues from the in-built mail server, and use the catchemail handler to help JIRA figure out which email goes to which project. Basically the catchemail handler looks at the "To" address of the email and then uses that to figure out where the issue belongs.

You can find details on mail handlers, and generally creating issues from email at:

http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Creating+Issues+and+Comments+from+Email#CreatingIssuesandCommentsfromEmail-Mailhandlers

Cheers,

Matt

To expand on Renjith's answer (which is completely correct by the way, I'm only piping up because some people sometimes need a bit more guidance)

What have you tried so far, what do the errors say, and what documentation have you followed?
