project keys

Deleted user October 24, 2023

Is it possible to set two keys in one project?

We'd like to add a different key in the existing project to differentiate tickets from the current ones.

example) ticket name

AB-xxxxx

CD-xxxxx

I confirmed it's possible by making another project, but we'd like to achieve this within the current project if possible.

HI @[deleted] ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

This is not possible, a project key is a unique identifier for the project and the tickets within. You could use components to differentiate your tickets.

Cheers,
Peter

Thank you, Peter.

Let me check components.

Hi @[deleted]

Its only possible for a project to have one key.

There may be other ways you can differentiate tickets. What are y0u trying to differentiate?

You can add a label one set of tickets for reporting.

@Tom Lister

Thank you for the reply.

I'm trying to differentiate the beginning of each issue name.

example) both are in the same Project

  • current issue names
    • AB-1, AB-2 (Feature)
  • new issue names
    • CD-1, CD-2 (Feature)

I'd like to differentiate the "key" part of each issue's name.
