I have an issue where sometimes Jira puts content I paste in into a code box despite it not being code. The workaround I have been using (as suggested on this very board) was to highlight the content and use the "Clear formatting" option in the editor which worked perfectly.
However, a few weeks ago that option stopped working for code boxes. I can highlight the text and press "Ctrl + /" (Windows) but it does nothing. If I try to access it via the editor's toolbar the "Clear formatting" option is grayed out suddenly.
Anybody know why this was changed and if there is anyway to tell Jira that the content is in fact not code after I paste it in?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Did you get a resolution to this, @Eric Katowitz ?
I'd love to be able to clean up the formatting in the description of some of our tickets - particularly text that was inserted as 'code' blocks (due to the HTML email formatting they arrived with) that aren't code blocks.
I can't seem to find how to clear formatting on them and don't even see the raw text (i.e., HTML/markdown) editing option in the WYSIWYG editor, where I could just remove the tags.
Hi - I hope that you are Doing good !!
Looks this is because of default formatting rules, causing certain types of content to be automatically recognized as code
That is the reason Clear formatting option is grayed out for content within code boxes
Thank you very much and have a fantastic day!
Warm regards
