"Components" not present in project settings

I have a fresh Jira Software project created using the Scrum template. I'd like to use Components, which I've seen teammates use in other workspaces, and which seem to be documented; however, I don't see a "Components" option in my project settings as described. We're currently using the Free plan, but I can't find documentation indicating that this feature is available exclusively on non-free tiers.

Am I missing something or misunderstanding? Much appreciated.

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Are you working with a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project? It will say at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

Components is a feature available only for Company Managed projects at this time. If you are working with a Team Managed project, Components is not yet available. The change request for that is here:

It's found in the left nav menu, but you can toggle it on/off by going into the project settings and looking at the Features menu.

Click on the slide bar there you have option of components
