Currently trying to view/download a PDF that was included as an attachment in a Jira ticket from 3 years ago. However, when I click on it I'm met wi/ What would be the cause of this & is there a way to recover the PDF. What I've tried so far:
-Use a different browser.
-Try right clicking & downloading the PDF.
Both options didn't work. If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated. Thank you.
It looks like the file cannot be found on the host filesystem. I assume you are using a hosted Server version of Jira? You would need your Jira Admin to check if the file exists at the location shown on your screenshot.
Yes. Jira is hosted on a Linux server. I have admin privileges so I can check. For the most part, what are some possible reasons it could've been deleted/removed from the host filesystem? Because other than updating Jira, I don't think anyone actually goes in there & touches anything. Apologies, if everything is novice, as I just started using Jira.

There's no reason that it would be removed by Jira, it would most likely be an issue on the host system. Can you view other attachments or are they all giving an error?

In my case there were dashes in the filename. I changed it from "my-file-name.docx" to "my file name.docx" and this worked. Think dashes in filenames make problems.

Hi,
did you find the reason for this error? and how to solve it?
Thanks
