"Story Points" not showing up on Screens while creating or editing but "Story Points Estimate"

Saurabh Malik June 29, 2025

I ensured the following things, but for some reason, "Story Points" is not showing up on screens:

  • The "Story Points" field is set globally for Story and Epic under the Custom Field configuration
  • "Story Points" is added to the Create, Edit, and View Screens of Story and Epic.
  • "Story Points" is not hidden in the field configuration scheme.

I performed the same steps for "Story Points Estimate" and it is working fine.

Appreciate any help here?

I am facing this problem on Jira Data Center 9.12.

Never mind, Guys. "Story Points" was hidden in one of the ScriptRunner behaviours. After making it unhide, it is showing up. Thanks, @Prachi Bolar and @Yogesh Mude, for your support.

hello Saurabh :)

Welcome to community :)

I understand you have added the field to all the pojects screens and field configuration and this is not showing up

Could you please go to create issue and click on find your field and search and double confirm if the field is added rightly

this will give you an error or a message if the field is not added correctly

Meanwhile also please check if you have edit issue permission in that project

Thank You.

I already checked it, and it's showing me available. I put the field under Original Estimate (Time Tracking) and no luck.

@Saurabh Malik  As you mentioned, this field is set for Story and Epic in its context, also, can you please check the project as well, whether that is added or not?

Also, while creating/editing one of the work type (story/epic) then you have the option to file your field/Where is my field, can you do this and check what it shows?

If everything is fine, please share the snaps of it.

Yes, Yogesh, I have verified, the field is configured on the right screens and has context for the projects.
