replace current workflow

Deleted user January 29, 2018

I need to replace current workflow with a new one, so I did, but what should be reviewed after this 'replace' , I thought -

  1. permission scheme,  permission
  2. screen scheme, screen

also, how to keep the right screen for this new workflow ?  the workflow xml backup can include screens as well ?

Hello Quan,

So you are importing a completely new workflow through xml import? From where are you getting the new workflow from? Is it the same instance, is it another instance?

Normally the permission scheme and screen scheme associated with a project have nothing to do with the workflows.

Victor

great! then just the jwb or xml file to import then.  however, the workflow involves screens for some transaction, that's why I wonder anything related.

I don't want to import one workflow, but missing some pieces associated with this workflow.

workflow is from another instance.

Anything extra: screens, custom post functions etc will not be taken over when doing the import of the workflow. You will have to manually recreate them.

Alternative is to use plugins such as Configuration Manager for JIRA which can be used to import entire project configurations or site configurations. And this also keeps the screens etc.
