Hi,
in the last few weeks there is happening to me some strange behaviour of jira subtasks.
When I clone the user story with its subtasks, and than I start editting the description of the subtask after few seconds itself replaces my text(and text of subtask's description) with the story description without any of my/users action to do so, and there is no way back. Even if I do not save the description, but I cancel it, it is still there replaced story description.
In the history log (attached example) of the issue/subtask I see the change of description to be done by me. Also the "change of parent" I do not do manually, but I guess it is because of the cloning of story with subtasks thing...
Does anybody met that, do you know what cause it and how can I avoid it?
addition - I checked automations, postfunctions in workflows (but I did not change actually the issue status), I have not found anything what could do it - and it started not long time ago, before there were no issue with this, I am not sure but could be around the time when "save" button in issue description appeared (and without saving others could not see the changes I made)
and now weird thing happened, no I was editing subtask's description and than returned back to parent (story) and the story description was already replaced by subtasks description I just edited, I was not trying to edit story description this time and in history of story I see the change to be done by me.

Can you check if you have automation rule running that may be causing this behavior?
It is possible the actor in automation is your id and hence in history you are seeing as if you edited the issue.
Try to disable all automations in your project and see if that prevents the issue from happening and go from there (in case you have multiple active automations)

there is no automation rule set up for such a purpose

audit log of automation shows last run of the rule 13rd of March, and there is no rule within whole jira instance that would be copying description
