I need to make a separate field for labels for two projects separate from the other projects and have those labels only show up in those two projects. Is it possible to do that?

Hi @Ivan Andrieiev @Adam Stuchlík

Using Colored label for Jira , you can

  • Visualize your labels with at-a-glance quickness to save time and avoid mistakes - Make your issues more colorful.
  • Take advantage of the benefits of labels and minimize potential pitfalls.
  • Edit, rename, merge and delete duplicate, misspelled or wrong labels without having to go through each issue.

Hi Іван!

Labels in Jira cloud can be assigned to issues by any user who has the permission to Edit issues. In default Jira cloud you cannot manage labels in the way you are describing.

The way it works is, that as long as you have access to projects with issues containing a specific label, you will always see the label in the dropdown menu in the field, no matter what project you are working in at the time.

That means that, you as admin, will most likely see all labels across all projects. But a user who has access to only, say, Project A, will only see labels from issues within Project A in the dropdown menu.

If you really need the ability to manage labels centrally I would advise to look for an app in the marketplace. There are some that provide the option to manage labels.

Have a nice day!
