Hello, I am using checklist field to create Aceptance criteria and it shows certain status options by default. How can I change it? Thank you in advance.

hi @Julia Cox ! I agree with Walter, from your screenshot it's clear you are using an add-on. I'm quite certain Jira doesn't have such checklists out of the box.

if you are having issues with that checklist add-on, I can recommend you another app, Smart Checklist (my team works on it). It allows you to set custom statuses, select colors for the lables, and a lot more.

To add a custom status, first install Smart Checklist and then complete these steps:

  1. Navigate to Apps → Smart Checklist → Settings → Statuses

  2. Type in the name of the status and click Add new status

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions

Hi @Julia Cox and welcome to the Community!

A checklist with options - that sounds like it is a feature from a marketplace app. If you check the list of apps from the menu on the sidebar, can you figure out which app this is?

I would recommend you to check out the app documentation. But since there are quite a lot of checklist apps in the marketplace, you'll have to make sure to check out the one you have in your Jira instance ...

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response. I do not think it is part of apps. This is the screen below:

I am quite sure it is, @Julia Cox. Checklists like these are not an out of the box feature. Based on your screenshot, I suspect this is Checklist for Jira (from appbox.ai).

According to the app documentation, it should be possible to update status codes in the app settings. The documentation does seem outdated, as it is still with screenshots from the old Jira navigation.

Hi Walter, Yes, I checked one more time and it is Checklist for Jira from appbox.ai. How do I get to the setting though in this add on to change it? What do I do? I am puzzled... thank you

I don't have the app myself, @Julia Cox. So I can't really simulate it. From the documentation, it seems as if there should be an app settings page. Things I would try to do, are:

  • see if settings are available through the Jira navigation (locate the App under Apps in the sidebar on the left)
  • if you are not a Jira Administrator, ask your company's admin to check this for you. You might not have the necessary permissions to update app settings.
  • Try the keyboard shortcut CTRL + K and see if you can't find any options when you search for checklist in the popup menu there.

If that does not work out, you could reach out to the app vendor and ask them (also to update their documentation) - contact information should be on the support tab of the app's marketplace listing.
