unable to add or remove a column

I read several description about how to configure the columns in my project in jira software, but it won´t work. There is no  option "board settings" by clicking the three little points in the right corner. There is no column option in the project settings either.

What do I have to do?

What type of project and board is it?  Some boards do not have any configuration items.

Also, could someone have removed your admin rights from a board?

It is a busines project. And when I first startet it, I could ocnfgure the board in it. Where can I check whether i still have admin rights? Thanks

Business projects do not allow for board configs, they take their columns directly from the status in the workflow.

Could someone have changed the project type?

There could be some other factors, but it sounds based on your description like a permissions issue.

Is it possible that the permissions for the free subscription have changed during the last two years? When I first startet i was able to add and remove columns in the board.
