I recently upgraded my JIRA server version from 7.9 to 7.13
It is configured to point to Active Directory.
When I try and log in from my company's EMEA domain I am unable to but it still works when I try and log in from my NA domain.
Both regions are configured under the same AD source on JIRA. I am wondering what might have changed in that respect in version 7.13 that could be leading this these authentication issues. Perhaps a setting or a permission somewhere. I dont even know how JIRA could know the difference between an EMEA user and an NA user since its the same AD.
Its unusual also that the logs show the log-in attempt as successful
thanks for the reply.
There is only one AD configured and user derodgers is part of it. I also checked the application access and derodgers is a member of the application access group
Other users in our north american region are able to log-in successfully against the same AD so its very strange that any EMEA users are failing to authenticate.
Hi @deirdrerodgers,
When you say, "When I try and log in from my company's EMEA domain ", is it your user name? Can you share the User Directories screenshot or ensure that both the Directories are enabled and the synchronization is completed. Please recheck the Active Directory configuration in the User Directories section.
Hope you have seen the logs in the <JIRA_HOME>/logs/atlassian-jira.log files.
Thanks,
Amith Mathur

I have checked the directory configuration and compared the settings from before and after and they have not changed

Hi @deirdrerodgers ,
Thank you for this information. Can you please share the User Directories screenshot? Can you confirm if "derodgers" are in both the directories ?
Also, verify the global permissions as mentioned here.
Thanks,
Amith Mathur
