If you're looking to upgrade you will have to have to install some 'bridge' versions to upgrade the database structure. Each release is only compatible with the database structure so far back.

• For Jira 5 and 6: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira064/production-releases-720413057.html . This also contains previous releases you need to filter them starting from v5.0.
