In the new issue view I can't see how to do two things:
Add a link to a website. In the old view adding a link had three options: JIRA issue, Confluence page, Weblink. Now, I only have the JIRA Issue option, and all the links added to issue prior to the change are now hidden. This second part is serious as we used those links to reference important pages.
Auto link to an Issue. When adding the key of an issue to a comment or description the text editor would convert it to a link to the issue automatically. It no longer does this which is sad...
Is there a way to recover either of these in the new view?
Thanks,
-SN
FWIW, Atlassian has already added the ability to link to a Confluence Page (JRACLOUD-69973) and stated that they are actively working on adding back the web link capability in coming months (JRACLOUD-70211)
Thanks to @Angélica Luz for the links to those tickets.
Hello Sam,
Thank you for getting in touch with Atlassian Community!
Currently, the option to link Jira Issue, Web Link and Confluence pages since the External Web Links is not available on the new issue view.
We have two feature requests related to this:
- https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69973
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the features.
Related to show the link to an issue on the comments, now you can click on "Link" and paste the issue key:
If you have any other question, please let us know!

How could you guys have forced this new view on users and be ok with simply losing our data? There was valuable information in those links.

Hi Josh,
The new issue view is optional for classic projects, you can disable it by going to your Profile picture > Personal settings and disable the Jira Labs.
New issue view is specific for next-gen projects, but it was also released for classic as optional.

Angélica
