Also, how do I set users, both from a customer and supplier perspective to only see tickets assigned to them and not have a view of other internal tickets.  both customers and suppliers will be involved in different tickets and different projects.

Regarding the login error, I would recommend you to reach for the cloud support team to find out exactly what is happening.

Now, about your other questions, you can either use JIRA Service Desk and put your customers/suppliers as Service Desk Customer or have them as regular JIRA users but configure an issue-level security scheme to allow these users to only see issues assigned to them.
