when adding fields to cards, is that a way to include a short description of the field

when adding fields to cards, is that a way to include a short description of the field. For example, if I add the assignee and additional assignee, I would like to just a number 1 and number 2 next to the names.

When you say short description, do you mean the description of custom field?

As currently you can't add a short description against a custom field and also the description of the custom field itself is not visible on the issue card on the board once you add the custom field.
