Reactivating Account - Restoring Groups

Recent Jira convert here- still learning the ropes.

Today I reactivated an account that was in Inactive status. After doing so, previous role and group assignments appear to have been lost. Is there any way to restore legacy groups or roles to a reactivated account? Last active use was approx 6 months ago.

I'm afraid not, not unless you have a backup to refer to and copy.  Inactivating an account does not remove it from groups though, only deleting or manually removing it from a group does.  I think one of your admins cleaned up after inactivation.

Thanks Nic, you're absolutely right. User had reported being in some groups he had not previously been added to. Everything is straightened out- thanks for responding
