Read-only link of reports for client

Sadia Aslam May 28, 2019

Hey,

I want to share read-only links of reports with my client. I have created a group named Customer and added my client into it. From global permissions I'm not getting what would work for client to unable to move through project. He should be just able to view reports though with controls and actions.

Please guide how to achieve this.

Hello Sadia,

Actually, the most detailed way to restrict users in a project would be using the project permissions and not global permissions.

That been said, there is no permission level to restrict users only to see reports on JIRA. They will need to have access to the issues/tasks to see their information in the reports.

That been said, the closest you can get to the functionality you are looking for would be to allow the customers to access JIRA issues, but not be able to edit it or perform any other actions under project settings > permissions.

Another option would be to export your reports to an external format (PDF, for example), however, a plugin would be required to perform such operation, as Better PDF Exporter for Jira (PDF View).

Let me know if you still have any questions about it.
