Reader permission for a board

Miriam Grühn August 6, 2025

Hello everyone,

We are using JIRA cloud and we are in a company managed Scrum project.

This project contains 2 boards with 2 different filter one is for developing the other one is for testing.

My question is: Is it possible to give one user different permissions per board in the same project?
We are currently working with roles and those roles have certain permissions.
Now I need one user to have full rights in the testing board but just reading permissions in the develpment board.
Is this possible, if so how do I do this?

Thank you so much for your help

Hi @Miriam Grühn

No permissions are granted on a project level not on board level.

A board is based upon a filter, the filter determines which issues are in a board.

Boards don't have permissions.

Hi Marc,

understood. But is there then somehow an option to realise the customers wish - That one user can only read one board and work in another one? Or is that simply not possible?

Thank you a lot
