We have an issue abc-123. It is referenced in another issue in the text (description or comment) eg: "refer to issue abc-123 for further information". Jira turns the text "abc-123" into a link you can click on.
Now we move that issue to another project and it is now def-456. So issue abc-123 doesn't exist anymore. But if you type abc-123 into the quick search, it will automatically take you to def-456. And if you had linked another issue to abc-123, that link will have been updated to def-456.
However, any issues that referred to abc-123 in the text will no longer be represented as a link and you can't click on it.
Is this a known limitation with referencing issues in the text (rather than creating a link between the issues)?
Thanks
David
It is actually a known issue. It would be really difficult to update all the references to that issue because of the huge volume in question but a redirect probably could have been done.
You will still be able to find the references stored in database and hence can write your own plugin to do something with it!
