Regarding Copying of Workflow

I have a workflow with Task level.

I want to use the same worklfow for the subtask level with same validation and post condition

So can i just copy the workflow and rename it

If i do so how about the transition,if i rename it after copying the workflow.

I have tried once,first it went to inactive and when i treid to rename it it also renamed the Task workflow .

If the workflow is the same, there is no need to use a copy. Just associate the existing one with the sub-tasks.

If you need a different workflow, then yes, work with a copy. It sounds to me like you edited the main workflow, not the copy.
