We have created a issue type year ago. we don't need this issue type anymore. we would like to remove this issue type from the possible type a user can choose from when he creates a ticket.
Of course, we would like to keep all the existing and Done tickets in our project, we just won't use this isseu type anymore and thus we would like to have it removed from the list.
If i remove issue type from project it will remove all existing issues ?
Hi @Ajay salla
When you start modifying the issue type scheme for your project in a company-managed project or delete issue types from team-managed projects, you will have to migrate existing issues of that type to another available issue type in that project. You cannot remove an issue type without going through this step. So to answer your question, all existing issues and their information persist. The only difference will be the new issue type.
Best, Max
Hello Ajay,
Removing the issue type is possible, but you will be forced to migrate the issue type to another issue type. The issue type migration (4 Steps) will open when you try to remove the issue type, so your information won't be lost. There is also a step which makes sure, that the field values will be retained.
Greetings
Chris

Hi @Ajay salla
If you remove an issue type from a project, you have to migrate the existing issues to a valid type. You can't set a configuration to point to something that isn't there.
