Relationship between story points and time tracking

Hi All,

What is the relationship between story points and time tracking?

Secondly, if I am using time tracking, can I view the velocity in terms of time tracked?

Where can I find more info about this? I am having a difficult time understanding how time tracking and story points work in relation to velocity and burn down.

Thanks.

There is no relationship.  Story points are a measure of complexity, and time-tracking is about estimating how long something might take and who has logged work on the task.

Time tracking is a very valid thing to base your Velocity on - set your board to look at the time estimates and it will work fine.

But bear in mind that you can't work with two sets of estimates.  For any team, pick Story Points, Time estimates, or another numeric measure and stick to it.
