Release Burndown: Why are items that are removed from the sprint not reflected as work removed?

We sometimes decide that we will not implement a feature. If items are removed from the fix version, it is not reflected at all in the burndown. Are there settings that I can adjust for this?

have you considered simply marking as Done (or whatever your terminal state is) and Resolution of say "Won't Do". Does this get you what you want?
