Hi,
I have a Atlassian Marketplace app that the business are considering removing but don't want to lose the custom issue types and fields contained in existing tickets.
I've searched around but most of the queries are the reverse of what I'm looking for where people want to remove the custom fields created by apps. Sometimes the app still exists and sometimes it doesn;t.
Does anyone know if I remove an app, will the custom issue types and fields also be removed? Or does it depend on the app?

Your best bet is to contact the vendor directly and just ask them what will happen to the fields.

In Addition to John ans, I would suggest to figure out the usage of that custom field with the help of JQL. And try to make a copy of that Custom field in the new field with the help of bulk operations, Workflow Post function and all.
