Remove resolved issues from backlog or future sprint

Eliyahu Klein March 1, 2023

Hi,

I set up a board in a bad way so that the DONE status will not be in the last column (green column), and an issue with a DONE status is not seen as a finished task.

This caused issues in DONE status, move to the next sprint, and if I removed them from the sprint, they moved to the backlog even they were resolved.

After I fixed the DONE status and set it to finish the sprint, how can I remove all finished tasks from the next sprint and from the backlog without using a filter ("ststus != done" or any similar filter)?

You don't.

You need to set up your board so that done is done.  Only issues in the last column are done.

Yes that's what I did. The question is how after I have changed I can remove the completed issue from backlog without filter?

You can't do this without using a filter.  The filter is what a board (and it's backlog) are defined by.

Your only option is to take the issues you made (re)opened in the board when you changed the definition of done into a sprint and move them straight into the done column to tell Jira that they are done again.

Good idea, I will try it.

Thanks!
