We have created two service management one is the internal document (ID), and the other is the external document (ED), but creating a new project I shared the existing project setting with the other. Now I want to remove two issue types linked with ID i.e. Task and Ask a Question, but that same is linked with ED. Is there is way to remove the issue type from the ID project without affecting the ED project?

Can you Please provide the solution for how I completely make the ID and ED
projects independent?

Hi @Shikha Verma

thanks for your question.

This can be easily achieved by creating a copy of your issue type scheme:

  1. Go to Administration Issues.
  2. Under Issue types, select Issue type schemes.
  3. On the specific issue type scheme, select Copy in the Actions column.

After copying you will be able to remove the unwanted issue types and then assign the new scheme to the ID project.

An instruction on how to assign a new scheme can be found here

Hope this helps.

I just wanted to confirm that this change in ID will not affect the External project (ED) and the associated tickets because I tried this, but it's showing this (in the screenshot below).

Hi @Shikha Verma

did you copy the issue type scheme?

You should only modify the copy of the issue type scheme.

After modification of the copy, assign the copied scheme to the ID project.

Are you sure, that you have done all these steps correctly?

Hi @Shikha Verma ,

Please follow below steps to remove issue types

  3. Click on Action menu (3 dots) against it and click copy
  4. Add a name to the scheme (Example: ID Issue type Scheme)

Hi @Shikha Verma ,

  1. Run 2 JQLs in ID project --> Bulk edit --> Move existing tickets to required Issue types.
    • project = ID and type =Task
    • project = ID and type = "Ask a Question"
  2. You should map the copied and modified scheme to the ID project.
