Replace default Kanban board with custom board

Hello,

We have recently migrated to JIRA cloud and created a new project, and we would like to replace the default Kanban board that appeared with the project with a custom board that has a number of filters based on a custom field.  We did not find a way to customize the default board, and we could only find a way to link the custom board under "Shortcuts."  Could you please let me know if you have any recommendations on how we should proceed?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

You said you are working with a Business project.

It is not possible to replace the default board in a Business project. 

It sounds like you already discovered that you can create an additional board for the project and connect it to your project by adding a link to the new board under Shortcuts in your project.

Thank you, Trudy!  We built this project in our test system, so when we rebuild it in prod, we'll use a software project instead.

Have you recreated the filters in the Quick Filters of your board configuration?

Are you working in a company-managed or team-managed project? Are you working in a software or business project?

Yes, we recreated the quick filters, and we are working in a company-managed, business project.

I suggest you read the following documentation article: Configure a company-managed board

To configure the board and any of its settings, you must be either:

• a project administrator for the location of the board

• a board administrator for the board itself
