Did you mean:

Replace part of ticket name (bulk)

Fernando Judzon October 11, 2018

I have 10 sub-tasks named "[Lastname & Name] - Deparment01", "[Lastname & Name] - Deparment02", etc

I used those as a template and when we hire a new employee, I need to manually replace the last name and the name of the new hire, task by task.

Is there any way to replace only that part of the ticket name, massively, but to keep the last part of the ticket name with no modification?

So the expected result should be

Doe Joe - Department01

Doe Joe - Departament02

Doe Joe - Departament03

Hi Fernando,

This unfortunately is not something easy out of the box. That being said you could easily change that by using a script if you already are familiar with ScriptRunner or PowerScript.

In a free fashion, you could export all those issues into CSV and change that in Excel (will be far easier), then reimport the new file: as the issue keys will remain, the import will update issues instead of recreating. Just map summary (or any relevant field you updated) and it should be ready!

Hope this helps!

Cheers
