Request related to clone issues in jira

Hi Team,

Currently, when a user clones a ticket all field gets cloned including "Reporter" however that is incorrect. The user who is cloning the issue should be a Reporter. The problem is Users are cloning many tickets then and they raise requests to Jira admins or Project Lead to change the Reporter name. 

To mitigate this issue and to show the correct reporter when the issue is cloned, can some changes be done in the backend of the project itself?

Hi

A clone copy everything except the status that will be the first status of the workflow associate with this issue.

You may try to create an automation for JIRA for that.

Trigger would be issue link created of type clone then set the reporter to the initator of this automation. In the automation detail, the actor need update reporter permission in the project. The initiator, user who trigger the automation do not.
