Required field flagging when it is not attached to issue type

I have created a project and it has a custom field on the main create ticket screen but when I switch the issue type to one that does not have this custom field is still is requiring the custom field on the default issue type. How do I fix this?

Hi @Orry Wright-Larson 

Check if the field configuration is shared between both the issue types? Also ensure if the field is required when you are creating the issue type directly(without switching).

If the field configuration is a shared one, take a copy of the configuration, make the field optional in the copied configuration and associate the configuration to the issue type that doesn't need the field to be required.

If the field is not required in configuration, check for the workflow create issue transition . That may have field required validator.
