We are an agile company working with agile tooling i.e. Jira and we are enjoying the benefits of working with Story Points as an estimation of complexity for our planning.
My role within the Engineering team is to plan resource for day/weeks/months/years. Therefore for the purposes of resource planning I require to have at my disposal a method of approximating duration of Epics/Issues so that I can determine if our team is sized accordingly.
How have Resource Planners approached working in an Agile environment to deliver their resource planning requirement? The target is to be able to produce a gantt chart from Jira data.
Are there any experienced Atlassian users who have worked out how either:
Further ideas of how to approach this bridge between estimation and planning within Jira would be brilliant :-)
Have you considered the option of getting rid of the story points and getting the estimates directly in hours or days from the team?
