Resource filtering does not work

I am using structure. Gantt with enterprise JIRA, and tried "resource filtering " as described on https://wiki.almworks.com/documentation/gantt/3.6/data-center-and-server/filter-by-resource-154272475.html

However, nothing happens when I select a resource and click on filter icon. Do I need to configure something to enable it?

Update: I think I have figured out what was wrong. My structure was in the automation mode, and hence the filtering was not active. I accidentally discovered this when I had to restart my PC and it suddenly started working. It would be nice if one got an error message asking to get out of automation once one tries to click on the filter icon while in automation mode!
