Dear Team,

We are looking for an app / custom solution to do resource management and capacity planning for a pool of team members in Jira. We intend to have a view of 2-3 months in advance of the team availability so that the work could be planned accordingly. The % of allocations of team members in respective projects should also be visible.

And that's just the first 6 search results! 

In other words, there are lots of choices.  Start with this example or own and keep refining until the list looks "right" to you.

If you are still looking for a solution ActivityTimeline plugin - the resource planning system would fit your request. ActivityTimeline provides users with an extra level of flexibility when it comes to planning the team’s work, as it allows them to schedule work not only for individuals but for the team as a whole. You can visualize your workflow on a timeline that helps to coordinate tasks.

In one Planning board, you can operate with your projects, teams, individuals, and milestones. The workload and availability indicator will give you a clear vision of the available capacity of each Jira resource. Timesheets will show the most important data in your team.

To handle the wait time between the tasks you can split tasks or distribute the hours for long period using different modes in the Workload indicator.

@abhishek_sharma03 look I don't know what others will answer you, but I'll give you a hint: don't waste your time, go straight to #BigPicture or https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219470/swanly-portfolio-roadmaps-structure-gantt-release-timeline forget about other gantt plugins such as structure and above all avoid Advanced Roadmaps, which is precisely not a project management tool, as unfortunately many 'geeks who know little about it' also claim here in this community.

Hi, 

The advanced plan have the resources capacity planning but I never use it.

You can also try some apps in marketplace. My  suggestion are Structure or BigPicture.

I'm Violetta from the Planyway team:)

Another solutions for workload management is Planyway.

It allows you to visualize your team members on the monthly timeline so that you can clearly see what they are working on to schedule further tasks. The view has the workload feature as well, which is based on the Jira estimation and daily capacity. Additionally, the app also includes the time tracking functionality so that you can compare estimations and actual time spent.
