Hi, there
I am currently using "JIRA Software version 7.5.1"
I have two groups in JIRA, "Customer" & "Internal". Both groups can have equal permissions.
While transition issue from one status to other, it has a transition screen, which contains "comment" field.
Now, when users from group "Customer" add a comment from transition screen, all user should able to see those comments.
But, when users from group "Customer" add a comment from transition screen, the only Internal group member should see those comments and not for all users.
I know, JIRA has a feature to restrict comments from specific group/users manually, but sometimes we missed to add restriction to other groups/users
Can we restrict this by using any automation/post function feature to automatically add restriction to comments depend upon users(who is part of "Internal" group)?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Siddheshwar,
I don't know of a clear way to set the default comment restriction based on the role of the user. There have been a few other threads in relation to this idea though, such as Set default comment visibility. However in that thread, they suggest the modification of a .vm template.
However in that thread another user mentions the use of the Comment Security Default plugin for Jira. Perhaps this plugin can provide you this kind of customization that you are looking for.
